Most people love us because of the things we do for them. We have give and take relationships. We love people for what they do for us, while they love us because of what we can do for them. That's a mouthful!
When Christ went to the cross He did not die because we were good. Romans 5: 6-8-You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Nothing we do can earn God's favoritism. He does not simply love; He IS love. Love is not simply one of His attributes; it's who He is.
This wonderful gift of salvation is not unattainable. Salvation- having a personal relationship with Christ- is available for all who will call upon Him. Romans 10:13- for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Joel 2:32- And everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved; for on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be deliverance, as the LORD has said, among the survivors whom the LORD calls. Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.' All you have to do to have a relationship with Jesus is- confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord" and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the grave (Romans 10:9.) Believing this is not hard because it is the truth. Whether you accept Christ as your personal Savior or not( meaning you believe that He is the only way your sins can be forgiven; and that He died for your sins once for all on the cross) does not change the fact that He died to save you from your sins. You may need to read that a few more times to soak it all in.
If you want to ask Jesus into your heart; to forgive you of your sins then there is a link below that will show you how you can do that. Remember it's not the words you say, as long as your heart is sincere.
